About
ADVOCO
Steve's financial career started straight from high school and he gain his financial knowledge in New Zealand's largest bank - ANZ. After 10 years this gave him the grounding and understanding on "how banks work." Steve has a passion for numbers and combined with his interest in real estate, mortgage broking is the ideal way to utilise his financial skills.
20 Years
of Banking & Broking Experience
ADVOCO Mortgages & Insurance started when Steve was approached by a very
experienced ex-banker who ran a well established mortgage broking business.
Steve quickly became a Senior Broker of the company, which became one of
New Zealand's larger residential and commercial mortgage broking businesses.
With his 10 years banking experience and a further 10 years experience as a mortgage broker/adviser, Steve has been there and has the know-how to help you, whether you are a first home buyer, second home buyer, investor, developer or business operator.
Steve soon became an expert in the hard to place home loans; mortgagee sales and clients in mortgage arrears or with credit impairment. It's because of this ability to find the best solution for a client's home loan many of Steve's clients refer their friends, family and business associates to him.
Arranging the home loan is only part of the service, Steve strongly believes you must protect what's precious to you - your loved ones, assets and your health. Steve will discuss the options with you.During his 10 years of mortgage broking he has written over $400 million in home loans and saved 53 homes from mortgagee sale.
His
wife; Joanne McGowan, handles the 'paper war' and looks after the administration
of the office and new regulatory compliance. With Joanne making sure
the wheels are oiled and everything is in order this allows Steve to concentrate
on 'doing the best for his clients'.
Fair Go: Steve Uncovers Dubious 'Buy Back' Mortgage Schemes
But
that's only a small part of Steve's impressive resumé. Steve's ongoing
commitment
to doing what is
best for people was recognised when Steve was
publicly acknowledged and thanked by Kevin Milne of TV One's Fair Go program
for helping families who were caught up in questionable "buy back" schemes.
With
the investigative nous of Simon Mercep, all five families had their homes
returned to them,
thanks to the help of Steve.
